Young-hoon and Jae-hee parted to go their separate ways after fate brought them together during their school days. After his older brother kills himself, Young-hoon tries to escape from his sense of futility and the real world by choosing to walk the life of a Buddhist monk. But deep in his heart, Jae-hee remains to haunt his memories. Jae-hee enters a convent partly in rebellion to her Catholic father and in retaliation to Young-hoon becoming a Buddhist. Seven years later, Young-hoon learns where Jae-hee, now Sister Agatha, is through her sister Rosa. Young-hoon courts her insistently. Jae-hee gets permission from the head nun to retire from the convent after she is diagnosed with heart disease rendering her incapable of serving in the convent. After years of yearning and conflicts of the heart, the two lovers finally break down the barriers of religion and create a loving home together.
