Kang Yeo Jin is a condemned murderer in prison, awaiting her execution. She had been convicted of killing her husband in Chicago when they were both students. Park, an ambitious young lawyer, tries to defend her, ignoring his own approaching wedding day. Park looks upon Yeo Jin with compassion because he had heard her taped confessions. They described her husband's moral corruption and his abuse of her. In spite of Park's impassioned pleadings, Yeo Jin remains silent. Park goes to Chicago to find more evidence and discovers 2 new tapes which put him in a state of torment and despair.
