On a winter’s night in 2002, he joined his girlfriend’s breakup talk while she accidentally fell off the bridge in an attempt to straddle a guardrail. He asked his friend to call an ambulance, yet in return, his girlfriend’s parents accused them of suspected murder. They weren’t prosecuted until a confession audiotape revealed that the witness changed the original statement and claimed they threw the victim off the bridge. Thirteen years later, with only an altered confession in hand, Taiwan Innocence Project decided to rescue them in the absence of evidence showing that the victim fell off the bridge by their action.
