Kinouchi Midori is a former Japanese idol and actress. In early 1978 she scored her biggest hit with "Yokohama Eleven", which reached the Oricon top 30. That same year she announced her retirement because of her marriage to composer and arranger Tsugutoshi Goto. They divorced 4 years later, and she subsequently married Naoto Takenaka in 1990.

Kinouchi got her start in show business when she runner up in the NTV contest "Miss Teen Contest" in 1972. Soon after, she moved from her hometown of Otaru to Tokyo to become a mascot girl for a song ballad program. She also debut as a singer in 1974 with the single "Mexame" under the label NAV Record. Because of her cute looks and singing voice, Kinouchi became so popular that her bromaide cards were a top seller.

In 1976, she debut as an actress in the dorama Watashi mo Moeteiru. Her famous role was in the 1977 dorama Keiji Inu Curl where she played the lead role. However, a year after that dorama aired, Kinouchi announced that she was retiring from show business after being in a relationship with bassist, composer, and arranger Goto Tsugutoshi whom she met him at a recording studio in Los Angeles. She also announce at the press conference that the other reason why she was retiring is that she wanted some time to have children. She married Goto Tsugutoshi in 1983 but divorced him four years later without any children. Then in 1990, she married actor Takenaka Naoto and currently has two children with him.
