Born in London and raised in Tokyo. She was sent to camp in Maine when she was 13 and now speaks fluent English. She was a Takarazuka fan which inpsired her dream of acting, and started out as a model. She was in her first commercial for JAL when she was still a high school student, and made her drama debut in 1996. In 2010 she married Shonentai member Noriyuki Higashiyama and they had their first child in 2011.
