Jo Seung Woo is a South Korean actor and musical star best known for his roles in Marathon and Tazza: The High Rollers. Jo, a graduate of Dankook University, has the nickname "old man" indicative of his maturity and considerate nature. He began his career in 1999 with the movie Chunhyang. Since then he has played both tough guys and tender types and starred in musicals. On December 15, 2008, Seung Woo enlisted in the South Korean military for his mandatory two year service. His movie, Marathon, gave him several awards namely: the 2005 Grand Bell Awards for Best Actor and Popularity Award, 2005 Baeksang Arts Award for Best Actor, and 2005 Pusan Film Critics Award for Best Actor.
