Originally from Kagoshima, Sakoda is a Japanese actor represented by the Horipro talent agency. He began his acting career on stage with Gekidan STRAYDOG for 8 years before he began acting on screen for various movies and dramas. A turning point in his career was his audition with famous director Mitani Kouki for the movie "The Magic Hour" in which he won the role as AD. Since then, he has acted in many of Mitani's productions as well as other popular drama series, many of them mystery or detective genres. Additionally, he has been featured in Japanese rock band GLAY's promotional video "Precious".
