Wang Bo Zhao, born in Nanjing in 1957, is a Chinese film and television actor.
In his early career, Wang Bo Zhao decided to leave China and go to the United States. With $300 in his pocket, Wang Bo Zhao set foot on North American soil. As time passed, he happened to meet Director Ang Lee and with a Mandarin accent, Xiaosheng image, and one who can speak English, he was just what Ang Lee was looking for. In 1991 he played lead "Alex Chu" in Film Director Ang Lee's first feature film " Pushing Hands", gaining international attention.
In 1994, Wang Bo Zhao passed on the co-starring role for "Beijingers in New York" and missed the so-called "Golden Opportunity" but he was at peace with his choice. Later, he returned to China.
With a successful career as an actor he also has a passion for Calligraphy. He is a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, Academician and Executive Secretary of the Chinese Famous Painting and Calligraphy Institute.
