Dong Li was born in Shanghai and have been learning fencing since an early age. He was known as a fencer and has been a part of Chinese National Fencing Team since 2015. Together with her daughter, he participated in Mango TV's reality show "Dad, Where are We Going?" in 2016. Since then Dong Li has released his personal EP and took part in some acting projects.
On August 24, 2018, he retired from his fencing career and officially enter the entertainment industry.
