Wakamura Mayumi is a Japanese actress. She decide to be an actress at age sixteen when she saw a stage show which was made by a famous professional actor's stage production. Later she joined his stage production to be an actress. In February 2004, she was married to a religious group "Shakusonkai" leader Kanehiro Ono. She debuted at a six month TV series in 1987 in a Japanese government-owned TV station. She was twenty-one then. After the show, she started appearing on other TV shows including several TV movies and series. Then in 1988 she was cast in a drama Kigakaikyo. She played a young prostitute. In the drama, she was briefly topless.
