In the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), the powerful Lee Daekam (an honorific title for a high-ranking court official) kills a group of Confucian scholars in order to dethrone the king. One of the scholars Kim An guk, with the help of a general, succeeds to punish him and restores order in the court.
