Based on the true story of Akinori Kimura and his wife Mieko Kimura. Their story was first brought to the public's attention via an NHK program titled "Way of Professional Work". Takuji Ishikawa then wrote a novel on the husband and wife titled "Kiseki no Ringo (Zettai Fukano) oh Kutsugaeshita Noka・ Akinori Kimura no Kiroku" (published July, 2008 by Gentosha).
Kimura Akinori (Abe Sadao) and his wife Mieko (Kanno Miho) opens an apple orchard in their hometown of Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture. Due to Meiko's allergic reaction to pesticides, Akinori Kimura has to grow his apples without the aid of chemicals. Because of this challenge, his family endures hardships and suffers severe financial difficulties. Kimura Akinori even contemplates suicide. A miracle then happens...
