Yeong Joo is an established screenwriter suffering from writer's block. When he fails to complete a commissioned screenplay on time, he boards a plane headed for Busan. On the plane, he meets Jeong Min, a nightclub waitress. Jeong Min assumes that Yeong Joo is unemployed and offers him a place to stay. Meanwhile, the production company, having lost money because of Yeong Joo's disappearance, sends 'Tyson', a very unpleasant individual, to find Yeong Joo.
