In the middle of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), the wife of Choe Gwan Hu is a beauty but infertile. One night, they are attacked by a killer sent by their political rival. They are saved by Jo. Jo takes the chance and has Yeon Sil, Jo's sister but actually, a prostitute, live with Choe. Lady Suk thinks it to be fortunate and hopes to have a child through her help. But then, Choe Seung Ji is sent to Chungcheong-do for work. He again faces another crisis because of Jo's scheme, but he avoids it thanks to his wife's wit. Returning safely home, the couple promise happiness to themselves.
