In Shanghai of the 1930s, Peng Yutian, who was an officer of the National Army, fought hard on the anti-Japanese battlefield. He was seriously injured. He was rescued by Lei Jinyi, a field nurse. The two fell in love. When the two were about to marry, he received an order to join the battlefield. Soon after, Peng’s family was bombed by the Japanese. Lei Jinyi escaped to death and gave birth to Peng Yutian’s flesh on the way to his escape. Lei Jinyi had to go to become a dancer in order to raise children and changed her name to Shen Hanbing. Peng Haotian learned that his hometown was bombed and thought that Lei Jinyi had been killed.
